Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to learn on neta.school, including people with disabilities. The site is built to the Israeli standard IS 5568, based on WCAG 2.0 level AA, and we keep improving its accessibility.
The accessibility menu
The button beside the logo, at the top of every page, opens the accessibility menu. Your choices are kept in your browser for every page:
- Larger and smaller text
- High contrast
- Grayscale
- Highlight links
- Readable font
- Text spacing
- Stop animations
- Big cursor
- Highlight focus
- Reset – back to the usual settings
What the site does
- Keyboard: menus and buttons work with Tab, Enter and Space, and expressions and equations can be typed.
- Structure: every page has headings in order, and the site works on a phone and on a computer.
- Formulas: maths is written as text, so it can be enlarged without blurring.
- Motion: if your device asks for less motion, the site uses less. “Stop animations” in the menu stops all of them.
- Language and direction: every page is marked with its language and its direction, right to left or left to right.
Parts not yet fully accessible
- The geometry board, the graph board and the sketch: these are visual tools. You build and draw in them with a mouse or a finger, and a screen reader does not describe what is drawn.
- Expression fields: a screen reader does not always read a formula typed in a field as it is written.
- Animations: some have no spoken narration in every browser and language. Their captions move on by themselves instead.
