Expression card guide

Try to write expressions yourself:
Step 1 of 8

/ – fraction bar · Tab or the arrows – between numerator and denominator, then a note above or below · Enter – check and a new line · * – times · ^ – power, ↓ – end of the power

/ – fraction bar · Tab or the arrows – between numerator and denominator, then a note above or below · Enter – a new line · * – times · ^ – power, ↓ – end of the power

Now you can use both keyboards – the computer’s and the card’s.

    A fraction:

    • Type / first, on either keyboard – the computer’s or the card’s.
    • An empty fraction appears, with the cursor in its numerator.
    • Type the numerator.
    • ↓ takes the cursor down to the denominator.
    • → takes the cursor out of the fraction.
    • Without it, what you type next goes into the denominator too.
    • ⌫ (Backspace) erases what is before the cursor.

    Notes for expanding a fraction:

    • ↑ takes the cursor to the numerator; ↑ again writes a note over the fraction.
    • ↓ goes the same way down: the denominator, then a note under it.

    A power:

    • ^ (Shift + 6) takes the cursor up, to the exponent.
    • ↓ brings it back down.
    • Times: * (Shift + 8) writes ⋅\displaystyle \cdot, the same as ×\displaystyle \times. On the simple keypad x writes ×\displaystyle \times too.
    • Divided by: : (Shift + ;).
    • More keys adds the tabs abc (letters, for algebra) and f(x) (roots, π, trigonometry).
    • Fewer keys brings the simple keypad back.
    • The card keeps your choice, on every page.
