טבלת ערכים

טבלת ערכים של פונקציה מראה כמה ערכים של x\displaystyle x, ומתחת לכל אחד את ה-y\displaystyle y שהפונקציה מתאימה לו.

  • כל עמודה בטבלה היא זוג סדור (x,y)\displaystyle (x,y).
  • את ערכי ה-x\displaystyle x בוחרים, ואת ערכי ה-y\displaystyle y מחשבים לפי הכלל.
מילוי טבלה לפי כלל

הכלל: כפלו ב-2 והחסירו 3.
נחשב את y\displaystyle y לכל x\displaystyle x בטבלה:

  • x=−2\displaystyle {x}={-2}: (−2)⋅2−3=−4−3=−7\displaystyle {(-2)\cdot2-3}={-4-3}={-7}.
  • x=0\displaystyle {x}={0}: 0⋅2−3=−3\displaystyle {0\cdot2-3}={-3}.
  • x=3\displaystyle {x}={3}: 3⋅2−3=6−3=3\displaystyle {3\cdot2-3}={6-3}={3}.

טבלה שבה לאותו x\displaystyle x מתאימים שני ערכים שונים של y\displaystyle y אינה טבלה של פונקציה.

ל-x=2\displaystyle {x}={2} מתאימים כאן גם 5 וגם 7.

מציאת הכלל מטבלה
בודקים את הכלל בכל עמודה, לא רק בעמודה אחת.

בטבלה הזאת y\displaystyle y גדל ב-3 בכל פעם ש-x\displaystyle x גדל ב-1:

  • צעד קבוע של 3 בכל עמודה אומר שבכלל יש “כפלו ב-3”.
  • 3⋅x\displaystyle 3\cdot x נותן 0, 3, 6, 9, 12. בכל עמודה y\displaystyle y גדול ממנו ב-2.
  • הכלל: כפלו ב-3 והוסיפו 2. בדיקה בעמודה האחרונה: 4⋅3+2=14\displaystyle {4\cdot3+2}={14}.
כלל של ריבוע

בטבלה הזאת y\displaystyle y אינו משתנה באותו צעד: הוא יורד ב-3, אחר כך ב-1, ואחר כך עולה ב-1 וב-3.

הכלל כאן הוא “העלו את x\displaystyle x בריבוע”: (−2)2=4\displaystyle {(-2)^2}={4}, (−1)2=1\displaystyle {(-1)^2}={1}, 02=0\displaystyle {0^2}={0}.
